Warren Mitchell

President
Hails from: St. Croix

Warren Mitchell, Board Chairperson, serves as President of the Virgin Islands Association of Georgia, Inc. Warren, LCSW, has over 30 years of experience working with youth, families, and adults who are emotionally and spiritually-distressed. 

Warren is the CEO at his private practice, Journey of Self Discovery, LLC. in Decatur, GA, where he provides services as a Clinical Therapist, Life Coach, Spiritual Guide and Clinical Supervisor. 

Warren received his BA in Psychology from the Franciscan University and earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Warren has developed a model that supports people, groups and businesses to operate authentically during difficult or painful circumstances and to take ownership of their lives and wellbeing.

 

Warren’s unique approach to serving his clients is based on the premise that each person is born with greatness in who they are, no matter what life circumstances she or he came from or is currently in. He believes no negative experience can destroy the worth of a human being.  His goal is to provide support to people that help get to the root of unhealthy cognitive and behavior patterns, that keep them in toxic or dysfunctional situations.

 

His support is both insight and action oriented. His clients feel more confident to live their best lives without fear of past issues holding them back. This is due to their healing, newfound wisdom, and newly acquired problem-solving skills. They learn to see obstacles as aids, to support them in improving their lives and achieving their goals.

Kalila Moorehead

Vice-President
Hails from: St. Croix

Kalila S. Moorehead, Board Chairperson, serves as Vice-President of the Virgin Islands Association of Georgia, Inc. She is an alumnus of St. Croix’s Central High School. Kalila holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Computer Information Systems. Her career has centered around hospitality procurement and program management. Outside of professional interests, Kalila enjoys traveling and spending time with family, dancing quadrille with the VI-ATL Heritage Dancers and baking her famous Butter Cookies.

Antoinette Hazelwood

Treasurer
Hails from: St. Thomas

Antoinette Hazelwood, Board Chairperson, serves as the Treasurer and Financial Chair of the Virgin Islands Association of Georgia, Inc.  She is a native of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, and an alumna of Ivanna Eudora Kean High School.  She holds her Funeral Directors and Embalmers Science degree and has been affiliated with several funeral home establishments in the Atlanta area. 

Antoinette has over 11 years of experience as a Senior Certified Mortgage Consultant and Financial Advisor within the real estate and finance industry. Antoinette's community and professional affiliations includes NNA, ASN and Order of the Eastern Star. She is a self-employed Independent Loan Signing Agent/Notary, Credit Consultant and CEO of AMH Notary Consulting Services. Antoinette enjoys traveling, helping others and spending much needed time with her family.

Fonda Gill

Secretary
Hails from: St. Thomas

Fonda E. Gill, Board Chairperson, serves as the Secretary of the Virgin Islands Association of Georgia, Inc. Fonda attended both Central High School in St. Croix (1 year) and Charlotte Amalie High
School in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., where she is an alumna. Fonda holds a BA in Computer Science,
M.B.A. (Human Resource Management), and an MPM (Project Management), as well as several
graduate certificates. She is a member of several professional organizations, such as APA, IAW,
SHRM, PMI, and has achieved several professional certifications in her career, including the Project
Management Professional (PMP), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Society for Human
Resources Management Certified Practitioner (SHRM-CP), Certified Lean Six Sigma Sensei
(CLSSS), Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

 

Fonda’s career spans the Human Resources, Payroll, and Technology industries where she has
held several roles in consulting, project management, management, and leadership. She currently is
a Sr. Manager at a technology company, where she oversees all phases of the organization’s
products from strategic planning and development to support.

 

In her spare time, Fonda loves to provide professional career guidance, motivational talks, and
HR/PR/Tax consulting services via her Tristratus Business Consulting and Services company;
certification preparation training via the Atlanta American Payroll Association chapter; and manage
her new franchise venture – Sorbetiere Atlanta – a mobile premium quality Caribbean flavor infused
homemade ice cream and sorbet business. Most importantly, Fonda is rewarded by donating to
various charities, volunteering to feed the homeless with Angel Wings for the Missing, Trafficked,
Homeless AND spending time with her four furry babies – Lil’ Man, Lady Shaela, Stitch, and Tutt.

Barbarelle Connor-Greenidge

Parliamentarian
Hails from: Tortola, BVI

Barbarelle (Barbie) Connor-Greenidge, Board Chairperson, serves as the Parliamentarian of the Virgin Islands Association of Georgia, Inc. Barbarelle is a native of Tortola and an alumna of The British Virgin Islands High School. She holds a BA of Science/Psycology and works for the Atlanta Veterans Hospital. She have traveled the world, thanks to her spouse for his service in the military. 

 

She enjoys sharing her gifts and talents with all while cooking a variation of food, but Caribbean food is what she does best. Her love of steam king fish head is just to name a few. If it has anything to do with the Virgin Islands or the Caribbean count her in.  She loves her caribbean heritage and always introducing others to our awesome way of life. 

 

Her  favorite saying: "Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up, I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain. To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices - today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it."

Naeemah Charles

Public Relations
Hails from: St. Croix

Naeemah Charles, Board Chairperson, serves as Public Relations of the Virgin Islands Association of Georgia, Inc. She is a St. Croix native, moved to Georgia in 1995 and has worked as a Women’s Health nurse at Grady Memorial Hospital for 16 years.

 

Naeemah joined the former Virgin Islands Association of Atlanta in 2001 as a member on the fundraising committee and is the owner of Beyond Nuptials, an event planning business.

 

Naeemah formed the Atlanta Heritage Dancers quadrille group in 2010 which currently has about 30 active members, and performs at numerous Caribbean events throughout the year. An extraordinary cook, Naeemah indulges tastebuds during Atlanta Caribbean Carnival each year, with Crucian Cuisine, her highly sought after catering company and food booth.

 

Naeemah is the founder of Sisters Loving and Supporting Sisters, a close-knit group, where she conducts self-improvement workshops and coordinates community service projects with other ladies and young girls from the Virgin Islands.

Naeemah’s passion is sharing the Virgin Islands culture and promoting unity among our people.
